Did my first trail run last night (2.6 mile loop) on a rocky mtn bike trail. It was fun, but lots of sore muscles today. There's no going back to the treadmill now. :)

Fantastic! The best way to run :) I'm glad to hear it went well.

I love running on trails! :D

Thurs - ran/walked on the grass for 3 miles...very difficult and not so much fun

Sat - back to the park to run the 2.6 mi trail, much improved from Monday's run and lots of fun dodging pointy rocks and roots. 8)

Same 2.6 mile trail on Monday - was challenging, but felt good afterwards

Tonight did the same trail, same distance, but switched directions. It was difficult. Left the trail with lots of mud on my shoes and blood on my hands and shirt. I'm a klutz.

I actually had to take a break from running to help my husband post surgery (nothing too serious). I should be able to get back at it starting tomorrow. I'm a little nervous cause it will basically be like starting over again, and I just signed up for a difficult 50k trail run in July.

My goal is to
1) Finish alive
2) Finish by the 9 hour cut off

Why do I do this to myself????? :P

Back at it. I'm a bit nervous about my ambitious goal in such a short amount of time, but I guess the worst thing that can happen is a DNF. I can only improve from there. :)

Monday: 90 min run/walk
Tuesday: 90 min walk with full incline on treadmill

It's the "Psycho Psummer" Run Toto Run 50K, 20-Mile, & 10-Mile Trail Run

http://www.psychowyco.com/id75.html

The course is described as challenging, rocky, rooty, and hilly.

I'm going to die. :P

Haven't had much time to post (or get in enough training) with my crazy schedule lately.

Sun: 3 hr walk moderate hills
Mon: 9 mile walk/run
Thurs: 9 mile walk/run

Saturday I get to check out one loop of the race course for the first time (about 11 miles). We plan to walk the hills and run the downhills and flats. I should get a better sense of whether I'll be able to complete the 50k after that. Then I'm off to Colorado for a week. :)

Did one loop of the race course yesterday. It was tough in parts, and I wiped out twice. :P I'm not sure if I'll be ready to do 3 of these by July, but I'm going to still try. A friend mapped the run with his Garmin: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/179794498

Well except for the rib pain that I have from wiping out, I guess I held up ok. Spent last week in Colorado (half business, half vacation) and did a mix of treadmill running/walking during the week. Saturday I walked (mostly)/ran the Mesa Trail (13.4 miles total) in Boulder: http://www.protrails.com/trails/view/20 ... mesa_trail

I fell again, but just once this time. I didn't do much for the few days after due to traveling in a car back home and rib pain. Hiked a hilly part of the Wyco Trail (race loop) for about 45 minutes last night. Walked/ran (on pavement unfortunately) 9 miles tonight. Scheduled to run Wyco Trail again on Sunday. We'll see how it goes...
