What else could you do?

good and painful point :(

Wrong end of the stick, mate. I was just confused by the fact you said you'd front squatted 4 sessions in a row, as if that was a strange thing to do. That's what everyone does, right? :D

Niiiice PB mate - onwards to 4 plates now.

cheers guys :D

yeah ninearms i did get the wrong end of the stick :D But it doesnt make it less true!

fronties rock though!

gauze, you could be right about the comp... and coming to think of it, any arm over arm has usually been ok for me in comps like at severn valley and last year at the UK Strongman North qualifiers...

Anyway, plenty of work to do before that!

OLYMPIC SPORTS GYM

Good session today with smalls, guns and roses Luke, Big Sam, and Shaun The Iron Knee.

Legs were still aching from mondays fronsquats, but they loosened up as the session went on.

Deadlifts
5x70
3x70
3x110
2x150
1x180
1x210
1x225
1x230
5x200

i liked the 230, slow but felt strong, enjoyable rep. Same with the last couple on the 5x200.

Need to relearn not giving up.

Axle power cleans
5x50
2x70
2x90
1x95
1x100

drag
112kg suitcase on tyre
2x30m

solid conditioning work. felt faster and easier than before but could be because i hadnt really done all that much work beforehand.

seated row, few sets

Thanks guys!

I am glad to report i actually did some hill sprints and didnt just talk about them

Quick summary of the past week.

Went to austria, met with bronco the master of all things shiny, but we didnt train (PB).

Sunday: some swimming, tons of natural hot spring spa and sauna. got sunburnt (i will never learn)

Monday: morning jog, HILL SPRINTS , bodybuilding session at the hotel gym, feel the burn baby! Evening forrest hike.

Tuesday: 3k run, 3k walk/run, sauna, spa, swimming

Wednesday: 5 hour alpine hike. Wasted afterwards. High altitude effect and tons of climbs, crossing snow fields, streams, forrests, mountains... awesome.

Solid trip. Gutted to be back.

today:

SUGDEN CENTRE

just a quick one.

Jerk off rack
bar x tons x couple sets
5x50
5x70
1x90
1x100
1x110 - not good enough "do it again" (+2.5)
1x112.5 - much better

left it there, log pressing in 11.5 hours time at The Dungeon morning session!

back into it!

nice session today, sun, good crew, and...

THE DUNGEON

Present sparrow, mick, traps and special guest cuddles.

IFSA log
5x70
2x80
1x90
1x100
fx105 - not a good try
clean only x 110 (+heave)
1x100 - all messed up
fx90 - ditto
2x90

at least i think thats how it went...

deadlift
3x60
3x110
3x150
1x190
1x220 - shit
1x220 - shitter

no power in legs.

then Traps was doing farmers, may as well join in

Farmers walk
20m x 70
20m x 100
20m+20m x 120 - had a long break in between the two runs, but i think it was still within 75 seconds? So could count that as 40m, which would be a pb.
20m x 140 - big fucking pb. the best pickup with these farmers was 135 probably a year ago, and could walk only few metres with them.

very happy now that i joined Traps in farmers - saved the day! Cheers to all the lads shouting in my ear and not letting me give up.

Really solid farmers man.

Couple of reps 25kg off your deadlift pb, after log shenanigans and when not in the groove, I don't think that's cause for concern at this stage. The strength is really coming back.

Solid. I think that beats Spug's infamous farmers pick up PB doesn't it, and you also walked 20m with them! :) Milestone!

thanks guys - i am really happy about that suprise pb, fills me with hope i could maybe actually do something in the farmers events at the comps :D

I have always been bad with farmers, but they seem to get a bit quicker now and stronger as well. One can live in hope!

Yesterday - just a 50 morning walk to get the stiffness from the legs from saturdays session. Followed by englands strongest man comp in doncaster cornering shawn - was actually hard work :D great day! And met morg from VF as well which was a suprise! :D

Today:

OLYMPIC SPORTS GYM

Training with legendary Boar - fit, fast and strong! Pace was kept up through the whole session.

Felt flat myself, i think not recovered from saturday, so there was no pop or power in my lifts. That aside, a great session!

Clean & jerk
3x60
2x60
2x80
1x90
1x100
1x105

Front squat
5x60
5x100
2x140
1x160

arm over arm
112kg suitcase farmers on a tyre, 25 metres
hard work, but I LOVE IT! great finisher for a session, i think will become a regular feature from now on.

viking press
3 sets

and then unorthodox medley of:
10 reps with viking + 3 x 80kg sack load on platform (+unload) from 4 metres
was fucked after. but boar did it twice :D

followed by a wee walk & picnic in the pennines

1x100
