Hi Fruitbat. Saw the piccies of the weekend on Gelert's log and am in total awe. Looks fantasitc.

Where is the climbing wall? I'm not brave enough to try it myself as I'm scared of heights. Well, that what I tell myself so that I can dodge it, but in reality can stand on the edge of a cliff looking down without any probs. :D

I had a go at abseiling at the beginning of the year. My son is training to teach outdoor ed and convinced me that walking backwards off a cliff is like being in a reclining chair. I'll never believe him ever again. :D

abseiling can be a bit scary if you arent used to it but it is good fun. My boyfriend had me abseiling face first, and into thin air in a cave last year!!!

Sorry for my short absence - I havent disappeared again - as usual life has run away with me though

Wednesday was my last log entry and pretty much my last exercise day. Friday I did some indoor climbing whilst teaching. Saturday my parents-in-law-to-be came down for the day so spent the day with them. Sunday we went for a little walk maybe I will put some pictures up sometime cos ti was lovely; and then in the afternoon-evening had a big open-fire cooking session :) so we did vegetable kebabs, a vegetable stew, lots of crusty bread and snacks and played with the bow and arrow and air-rifles :D

Monday (yesterday):

Swimming:
250m warmup crawl
50m crawl arm drill, 50m crawl kick, 50m crawl arm drill, 50m arms only crawl, 50m crawl
50m backstroke; 50m back kick only; 50m backstroke; 50m back kick; 50m backstroke
250m cooldown crawl

3hours of intermittent but exhausting indoor climbing whilst I was teaching

Tuesday (today)

Run 48minutes 8.38km with 3 steep but short hills in them

Tonight I will do some gym-work and then go to the adult swim class

Sounds like your walk took you through Middle Earth there.

Don't suppose you saw any Hobbits or Dwarfes did you?

Have you managed to get rid of the smell of smoke yet?? Two showers later I still get a whiff of it! (Edit: I just got my jeans out of the washing machine; the wash has softened the smoke smell, it now smells like I've tipped half a bottle of an Islay malt all over it, which is both brilliant and disappointing!!!)

Good food though :D

my gym workout was pathetic due to busy gym:
bench press 10x30kg; 10x40gk; 10x40kg
4,3,3,3,3 pullups
corework

the adult swim class last night consisted of a lot of kicking on tired legs :D

Warmup 200m crawl
5x75m steady swim / kick alternated per set
4x50m breastroke
4x100m steady / sprint alternated per set
3x100m kick increasing intensity per set
cool down 150m backstroke / crawl alternated per set

I just noticed a little reference to the little something in your earlier post; nobody else (save Enhydra Lutris) has yet it would seem.

I'll quit being elliptical now.

i know  oh well... i was wondering if anyone would notice

anyway wednesday in the end I did get to exercise :D my free weights induction ended early as there was only 1 bloke turned up so I managed to run 4km:

warmup 2km
and then I did 2km of 300m fast run and 100m recovery walk
24minutes
stretching

and then i got picked up from work and whisked off to the wilderness mountains for a night navigation exercise. walked about 5km in the dark over rough terrain navigating from point to point - we were out and about for about 4hours

thursday - rest day

friday:

34min run - hill sprints day so I sprinted up cardiac hill (cars have to go to first gear to get up it), buarth hill (little gentle second gear blip); trevor road (another longer and steeper hill) and then steady pace run up steep hill back to work. I did each sprint twice and walked down the hill to recover and protect my ankles and knees.
