Back home from Festival. I trained couple of times in hotel's gym, mainly bench press, pulldowns, dips and pullups. Once I had honour to train with Superflor

I broke my damn back again during trip. One factor was probably breast stroke swimming in sea. Waves were quite high so I had to swim in a quite upright position, maybe back was saggy and breast stroke kicks caused overbending etc. After swimming back felt bit achy and after couple of hours when I suddenly bowed to take daughter's hand I felt that knife was stitched again in back. So fuck that again. So now there isn't any cycling for a while, I guess I can't do that. And dreams about playing soccer after summer pause can be forgot.

Today:
Bench press:
20 @ 20 kg
12 @ 60 kg
8+8+6 @ 80 kg

Cable rear pulldown:
3x7 @ 70 kg

Cable underhand pulldown:
3x3 @ 100 kg

Some hanging for stretching and grip training.

Thank's! I see my doc on Tuesday, but I guess that there's nothing to do at the moment. I'll give her papers I got from first-aid in Spain that she would know that this happened again. So maybe, if this happens again and again, at some point there should be done some MRI again and see if it's healing on it's own or not.

Tried cycling. First try was painful, I wasn't able to be in normal cycling position. So I raise bar as high as possible, saddle down and forward and after these adjustments it didn't feel bad at all with supporting belt around my fat belly. We wen't to lake nearby, trip was about 13 km with many stops. Looks like upright position is quite fine, at least I can cycle somehow.

But I think I'll skip Tour de France for this year. And maybe also longer/harder trips like commuting etc.

Doc sent me to physician OMT, I'll go there on next week. Let see if I can have some tips for recovery.

Today:
Bench press:
20 @ 20 kg
12 @ 60 kg
10 @ 80 kg
6 @ 90 kg :P
2 @ 100 kg :?
2 @ 90 kg :|

short bench session, but felt that energy just ended suddenly

some easy supermans and abs, I bent back only very, very little, but just to get something to do with lower back muscles for better blood circulation etc.

Thanks, afterwards I'm quite happy with that 2x100 kg because it was after 6x90 kg and 10x80 kg, those were quite heavy sets. My near future aim is 3x100 kg and 1x110 kg, but not sure if there's enough time for reaching that before summer holidays and short break in training.

Today fast lunch break session:
3x10 pullups, felt fucking heavy, some of the lasts were shit
easy stretching, hanging, etc

Good news:
I woke up on Thursday morning and after a while I figured out that there isn't any pain in the back! When I went to sleep on Wed night it was still quite achy, but something happened at night and after that it's been ok. I can put socks/ shoes on, driving a car doesn't hurt etc.

Thursday:
Close grip bench press:
20 @ 20 kg
10 @ 60 kg
3x6 @ 80 kg
2+F @ 90 kg
F @ 95 kg

Bad news:
When lifting that 95 kg up from rack, I heard a pop in neck. I think I was bit in a wrong place on the bench so when outreaching bar, maybe center of mass were too close neck. Or then it was just because overall tension etc. Anyway, neck turned quite achy and stiff, I tried to do some easy pulldowns, but I couldn't. I wen't to doc, probably just strained muscle, so hopefully it will heal quite fast. Today it's bit better, luckily I still have those drugs that I got from first-aid in Spain.

No pain, no gain!

Neck is quite good, just bit stiff on morning. I'm relieved that it wasn't that bad injury.

So, today new try:
Bench press:
20 @ 20 kg
10 @ 60 kg
2 @ 90 kg
F @ 110 kg (sooo close, was able to raise it about 10 cm, but then stopped.. ahhh, almost)
3x5 @ 90 kg
3x15 @ 60 kg

easy supermans, easy abs crunches

I don't feel very disappointed with that 110 kg, it was so fucking close that I'm quite sure I can lift it in near future. There will be less training on holiday, but after that there are good targets for training. If I don't hurt my back on holidays, maybe after that I dare to start squat training with hip-belt also. Now my training is bit boring, bench, dips, pulldowns, pullups, not much more can be done at the moment.

In a hurry, had to take our tortoise to be microchipped, so I didn't have much time to train:
Ring pull-ups (bw):
15+12+11+8

I think it was actually my first pull-up training session with rings. Probably not the last one.

Holidays are getting over (sniff) and there's also more time to be at home and hanging in internet...

Didn't train very much on holidays, some push ups, pull ups when there was a chance. Back was still bit bad and couldn't do any long/fast rides on a bike. Here's visits to different gyms:

11 July:
I looked for a gym nearby country cottage that we rented in Estonia. It was on a countryside, and I found that there was a gym about 15 km away from cottage, so wen't there. It was located in a school and there was a sign "We are on holidays", but door was open so I went in. School's janitor was just getting by and I asked that is the gym closed or not. He asked that am I local guy, I said "no I came from xx village, I didn't know that it's closed". (I felt myself quite proud of my Estonian language skill's because he asked am I local). He let me in and didn't even wan't any money. Nice guy

Bench press:
20 @ 20 kg
10 @ 60 kg
8+8+10 @ 80 kg
4 @ 90 kg
2 @ 95 kg

Cable pulldown:
10 underhand + 8 rear @ 80 kg
10 underhand + 4 rear @ 90 kg
4 underhand @ 100 kg

DB hammer curl:
20 @ 10 kg (biggest fixed DB's available)

18 July:
Free excursion (campaign) to one gym that is located near home.

Bench press:
20 @ 20 kg
10 @ 60 kg
8 @ 80 kg
5 @ 90 kg
4 @ 95 kg
10 @ 60 kg (narrow grip)
7 @ 70 kg (narrow grip)

Cable rear pulldown:
12 @ 50 kg
3x8 @ 70 kg

T-row in apparatus that had chest pad (otherwise couldn't do this because of lower back injury):
10 @ bar
4x6 @ 40 kg (+bar)

Cable underhand pulldown:
6 @ 90 kg
5 @ 100 kg
1 @ 110 kg

25 July:
Free excursion (campaign) to one other gym that is located near home.

Bench press:
20 @ 20 kg
10 @ 60 kg
8 @ 80 kg
3 @ 90 kg
3 @ 95 kg
10 @ 80 kg
They had quite shitty bench. Too soft and weird design.

Cable underhand pulldown:
12 @ 75 kg
3x7 @ 90 kg (max weight's in apparatus)

29 July:
Third gym nearby home. This was bit more oriented to weight/power lifting and bb than others.

Bench press:
20 @ 20 kg
10 @ 60 kg
8 @ 80 kg
6 @ 90 kg
4 @ 95 kg

T-row in apparatus that had chest pad and separated bars for both hands:
12 @ 20+20 kg (+bars)
10 @ 35+35 kg (+bars)
10 @ 40+40 kg (+bars)
8 @ 50+50 kg (+bars)
7 @ 55+55 kg (+bars)

Cable pulldown:
10 @ 70 kg (rear)
10 @ 80 kg (underhand)
5 @ 100 kg (underhand)

Today:

Bench press, narrow grip, fast up:
4x12 @ 60 kg
I lowered bar with normal/slow speed, kept some time on my chest and tried to press it up as fast I could. Just for getting more variations. Quite heavy session considering the weights.

Abs, supermans (easy), stretchings.

Cycling:
20.2 km, avg speed 25.0 km/h.
Testing my back, looks like it somehow stands cycling. Seat was still low and bar as high as possible to get body position upright. Not ideal for ride fast, but otherwise can't ride at all, so better than nothing! It was positive surprise that I could ride that 20 km pretty well. Back won't ache more than usual.
