Thanks for the frame by frame analysis man :D . I agree with your obvious points, but I also think working on bar contact during the descent is a good plan.

Trying to be slower under the bar may sound counterproductive to you, but it was the advice I was given and it seemed to work. If it actually made me slower under the bar Im not sure, could just be one of those weightlifting mind tricks.

Oh, and I agree there should be more weight on the bar, I just need to improve my suboptimal jerk first ;) .

As for todays training, snatches on the menu.

Suboptimal session, snatches were not too bad, clean pulls were awful, jerks wasnt too bad but they agravated my shoulder so couldnt work up to any weight. Front squats felt kind of decent, tried new wider stance but had forgotten to apply my new heelraisers to shoes.

Snatch:
40kg: 1x3, 50kg: 1x3, 55kg: 1x3, 60kg: 4x2
Powersnatch:
60kg: 3x3
Clean pulls:
80kg: 1x3, 100kg: 2x3, 80kg: 2x5
Powercleans:
60kg: 1x3, 70kg: 1x2
Jerks:
40kg: 1x3, 60kg: 1x3, 70kg: 1x1
Front squats:
70kg: 1x5, 90kg: 1x5, 100kg: 1x5, 110kg: 1x5

Solid session, Bronco.

Snatch day.

Got a few useful tips. Or they should be useful if I remember them, I tend to forget even the things I write down.
Also tried heelraising inlays in shoes. Only tried them for frontsquats, they made the bottom position feel mighty solid :) .

Powersnatch:
40kg: 1x3, 50kg: 6x3
Clean pulls:
70kg: 1x4, 80kg: 1x2, 1x2, 6x3
Push press:
40kg: 2x3, 60kg: 2x3, 70kg: 1x3, 75kg: 1x3, 80kg: 1x2+1f (:x)
Front squats:
90kg: 3x3

Snatch day.

Worked from the hang, with a little success. Jerks are improved. Foot placing deteriorates somewhat with heavier weights, but the breaking point seems to be getting heavier at least. Back is a bit messed up so cut clean pulls and front squats short.

Powersnatch from hang:
30kg: 1x3, 40kg: 1x3, 50kg: 2x3, 55kg: 1x3, 60kg: 2x3
clean pull from hang:
70kg: 1x3
front squats:
60kg: 1x5, 80kg: 1x5, 90kg: 1x5
jerks:
40kg: 1x3, 50kg: 1x2, 60kg: 1x2, 70kg: 1x2, 80kg: 2x1, 85kg: 1x1, 90kg: 3x1

I would imagine they are no great use for your full cleans, maybe even mess the full clean up?

The idea is to train the pull, and the reason for doing powercleans instead of pulls is that it should be easier to feel when I get a good hit. Compared to full cleans they are less complex so give more focus on the pull. If done right powercleans should be useful for full cleans.
If not done exclusively I dont think the powercleans will make my cleans any more messed up than they allready are :) .

And what is a clean pull?

Something like this .

Clean day.

Powercleans a little better than usual, a few decent reps. Snatches felt relatively solid. Back hurt a bit from the clean stuff, so skipped squatting.

Powercleans off blocks:
60kg: 2x3, 70kg: 2x3, 80kg: 1x3, 4x2
Snatches off blocks:
40kg: 1x3, 50kg: 1x3, 60kg: 3x3
OH-squats:
60kg: 1x3, 70kg: 1x3, 75kg: 1x3, 80kg: 1x3, 85kg: 1x3

Snatch day.

My forearms are pretty fucked for whatever reason, so started using straps as much as possible.
Snatches were pretty crap Didnt get the right positions. Powersnatches from blocks were pretty hitty on the other side.
Jerks were pretty bad. Having trouble finding a good position for the bar on the shoulders while keeping the elbows down. Practice and possibly stretching needed. Frontsquats felt decent.

Snatches:
40kg: 1x3, 50kg: 1x3, 60kg: 1x3, 70kg: 1x3, 75kg: 1xf, 1x1, 2xf
Powersnatch off blocks:
50kg: 1x3, 60kg: 2x3
Jerks:
50kg: 1x3, 60kg: 1x3, 70kg: 1x2, 80kg: 5x2
Front squats:
80kg: 1x5, 90kg: 1x5, 100kg: 1x5, 110kg: 3x3

Nice volume on the jerks at 80kg. Hope your forearms are good soon.

Thanks, they have been worse. Actually I think they have never been better :) .

Thanks, I hope so too. Ibuprofen seems to be helping somewhat :) .
