I'm not entirely sure how to log the details, but I did shoulder rehab and some back. It was all high-rep with bands, so I can't even guess at a weight on those. Felt good though. Gotta get back to foam-rollering my hamstrings too, been having a lot of pain when I deadlift from old injuries/scar tissue in my hammies.

3 sets of 20 of rotator cuff exercise 1
3 sets of 20 of rotator cuff exercise 2
3 sets of 20 of rotator cuff exercise 3
3 sets of 20 of bent row w/band

6 Feb 2012 - Monday

DB Bench: 10 x 25s, 10 x 35s, 10 x 40s, 9 x 45s, 3 x 50s, 3 x 50s

Machine Dips: 10 x 150 lbs, 10 x 165 lbs, 8 x 165 lbs

Tri Press: 10 x 40 lbs, 10 x 40 lbs, 5 x 50 lbs

Shoulder Rehab: 20 reps x 2.5 lbs

Not much to say about today's workout other than I drove to work instead of walked today so I was all road-ragey when I got there - I hate driving and it makes me very frustrated so my patience was GONE at the gym. When I was benching, some jerk was hoarding the 35 pound dumbbells and just wanted to beat the hell out of him :lol: . But I held my temper, don't worry :)

crazy heavy 5x5 squat! That's only 10kg less than I'm squatting and I consider mine respectable (though not impressive) for a man my size. What is bw just now?

Squat: 10 x 135 lbs, 5 x 175 lbs, 5 x 195 lbs
3 x 205 lbs - thats 93 kg
2 x 205 lbs - failed on 3rd rep
2 x 205 lbs - failed again
2 x 205 lbs - yup, failed
2 x 205 lbs - after 2, didn't attempt third!

Leg Curl: 3 x 10 x 50 lbs
Leg Ext: 3 x 10 x 60 lbs

Leg Press Calf: 15 x 75 lbs, 12 x 75 lbs, 12 x 75 lbs

Well darn it, I really wanted my three reps on all those, but it just wouldn't go after the first one! Granted I was tired after work, but I'm always tired after work for my squat days so its hardly an excuse. I'm definitely working close to my max. We'll see how 215 lbs goes next week - might be a 1RM sort of day! My 5x5 is peaking out, I'd LOVE to hit 100 kg again. :)

Not to brag Lordmuppet, but my all time 1RM is 106.6 kg ;) :mrgreen:

As for gym time this week, its been impossible! I had two different fundraisers for my sanctuary centered around Valentine's Day (a way fancy vegan dinner Saturday, then selling vegan chocolates the actual day), and the local hockey team is donating some money of any tickets we sell for a game next month to my sanctuary so I had to get that all arranged. Everyday after work its been run run run around, but in my car not on my legs :( . I think I might try to get up an hour early tomorrow and hit up the gym before work. That does mean I'll be walking my dogs at 5 a.m. though (I have to walk them before I do anything in the morning, that's what I get for having big dogs in a little apartment). So tired, and so gym deprived!

New routine! The 5x5 maxed out. I was going to do some 1RMs last week, but it got too hectic so it ended up being a rest week. Now I'm starting a month of high rep nonsense :) . Blarg, I hate it but I've been too stagnant in my routine so I just need to HTFU. Here we go!

warm-up

Squat: 10 x bar, 4 x 20 x 95 lbs

Superset:
Leg Curl: 20, 20, 20 x 30 lbs - one leg
Leg Ext: 15, 16, 20 x 35 lbs - one leg

Leg Press Calf: 20, 19 x 45 lbs - one leg

*stretching

Oh my goodness, high reps SUCK, but one day is in the bag :)

warm-up

Bench: 10 x bar, 4 x 20 x 65 lbs

Recovery Pullovers: 20 x 15 lbs

Shoulder Rehab: 3 x 20 x 2.5s
Shoulder Rehab Cable: 3 x 10 x no weight

DB Hammer Curls: 3 x 20 x 10s

*stretching

Even with the light weight, benching killed! I could get 10 reps no problem, but as soon as I hit that 10 mark, my pecs and shoulders would just give out and I'd have to fight for each rep to get to 20. This is why I'm doing high reps for a minute, my muscles are too used to 10 and under, its all they can do!

Oh, and today I switched to waking up at 5:30 a.m. to workout before work. I was tired at work all day but so far I LOVE it! No crowds, no waiting for squat racks or benches. I'll keep this up for as long as I can :)

Hang Cleans: 10, 15, 15, 15 x bar - my form is GOING to be PERFECT! (so help me)

Dips: 6, 6, 7, 7 x bw

Shoulder Rehab: 3 x 20 x 3's
Shoulder Rehab: 3 x 20 x 3's - not sure how to differentiate these :/
Cable Shoulder Rehab: 3 x 10 x 5 lbs

HS Rows: 3 x 12 x 90 lbs - gotta drop the weight on this so I can get 20, was falling into old habbits here today :)

Okay, first week of high-rep stuff is DONE. Can't wait until its over, high reps suck! Just hoping I can mentally last for a month :( . Besides sore DOMS muscles, my body feels great this week :). Not sure if its the new routine, the week I took off last week, or working out in the morning instead of early evening. I could get used to not being in pain :)

Frosty, yeah high-reps aren't much fun. sorry about the shoulder. i've been through it in both of mine. my left is maybe 97% there.
