16 July 2012Ever feel like the fates are conspiring to keep you from squats? That was today for me. First I woke up with an "oh crap, its a squat day" attitude, but that quickly went away because I've been enjoying squatting lately. Then my knee started acting up, so to get over this obstacle I warmed it up really well before heading over to the squat area. But, much to my dismay, both cages were occupied when I got there! I only have an hour because I go at lunch so I went over to the deadlift bar and push-pressed the bar onto my back to warm-up:
Squat: 10 x bar, 10 x 95 lbs
Still no free cages, and time running out so I gave up and switched to deadlift (can't push press more than 95 lbs).
DL: 10 x 135 lbs, 10 x 155 lbs, 8 x 185 lbs
Leg-Press Calf: 3 x 10 x empty sled.
Then back to work! Haven't deadlifted for a bit because it still bothers my hamstring, but it was a good alternative to crappy guys hogging the cages. Everyone squats on Monday, maybe I should switch that to a different day
