Powerlifting MO!ppet.

Postby mo! » Sat Jun 08, 2013 4:02 pm

Starting a log....well...moving it. Ive started one in German here: http://veganstrength.users-board.com/t3 ... ein-starke ...if anyone is interested/ able to understand ^^ ...

So...i just came back from working out. Its all a bit mixed up/fucked up it feels. Diet is just breaking my neck. I dont feel weak enough to do nothing but also not strong enough to be super-awesome ;) ...*hate it* ....Well, that needed to be said in the beginning. I REALLY DO HATE DIETING! ...

Ok. Enough of the whining.

Did Bench. Wanted to go for 3 sets of 55kg doubles. But messed up the last set. So i did two reps of 50kg afterwards. Actually i wanted to do as much as i could, but apparently im super weak in my arms. At least it felt like it. Next time i might do 5 sets of doubles with 50kg. Or just man up and try the 55kg again Dont know...ill see.

Than some back work. 15kg plate in front and doing back extensions. 3x8
Afterwards leg raising 3x10
Triceps on the maschine with 40kg 3x8
Good mornings (first time ever) 3 sets of 40kg x 8 (funny exercise. Feels nice, though weird)

Squats i did though i thought i wouldnt do them today since my hip is in constant whining-mood, plus Curlbro was occupying the rack.
So i did 3 sets of 80kg 3-4 reps. Trying to get as low as i could. I asked my companion to tape it since i never know how deep i really go... the result is below.

the youtube/flash thingy isnt working -__- ...

Work out was ok. There is always something that feels like "undone" or just not worked hard enough on, or just shitty. That was definitely bench today. Its like constantly dying. But yeah...next time it will be squatting again. I was surprised that my "quater squat" is actually just 3cm or so too high. I hope i can fix that shit soon. Its annoying. If anyone got advice on the video (yes, the camera-dude was not really talented), id be happy to hear it!!
Calories i already ate 1235kcal so far. Millet-spinach-tofu with veggies and protein shakes with fruit and nuts.
Im probably heading out for a walk (which mostly go from 30min to 2h) later... for some Vitamin D and the "healthy cardio" shit. ^^

And then: Done. 8)

Get those squats a bit deeper :)

Fuck i owned dat deadlift today!!! 8) Got a new PB! Bitches!....Yeah, i kinda get excited when i happen to fulfill my expectations :) ...

So...starting with Overheadpress. Hadnt done that for a while and was better than expected. So i increased to 35kg and did 3x2. First i thought that it was dumb doing it in the x2 way cause it wasnt too hard, but last set killed me eventually. Made it strict, but my arms were like pudding. Its funny how the first rep always fucks you
Than deadlift. 120kg doubles and made the first 130kg attempt. *awesome as fuck* ... 8)
Kroc rows 1 set with 22,5kg: right 20 reps, left 18.
Leg raising 3x10
Done.

Really nice work out. :)

Congrats on the PB! 8)

But why?! Don't do that to yourself. It's really not the best way to loose fat and obviously not to gain strength either.

Oh dear... Where to start. Look, I'm not saying it's wrong to want to shape one's body, just that dieting isn't the most
effective way of doing so plus it's pretty detrimental to your powerlifting goals and potentially to your health. You're not
going to find a lot of strength athletes who diet while increasing their weights. A more sustainable approach to lower bodyfat would be to
eat "clean" fairly consistently and boost your metabolism through strenght training and by adding some muscle mass. If you want quicker results you can always increase your calorie expenditure (exercise more). Bulking/cutting cycles are pretty popular but I think that can make you a little eating disordered plus I suspect it trains the body to hold on to it's fat...

Sorry for hassling you a little, I just feel quite strongly about this both as a feminist and as someone who wants their fellow vegans to succeed
at power lifting! I'll get out of your log, for now... Maybe I'll get the chance to talk you out of dieting IRL, I'm probably coming to Berlin
in August. :)

Like i said...I totally get this! ....And id say the same stuff to other people as well. I even feel its "wrong" and deep inside nothing i want/feel i should do, but i dont have a magic wand ;) ...if you want something you do what it takes, i guess... :?
