feel like i should be doing one of these. i'm not much of a numbers person so let's see how it goes. i'm starting this way out of shape, and in a bit of motivational rut, so it can only get better from here :)

week 1:
78kg

cumbria & north wales. hardly got out on the bike, preferring food and beer instead. planned a nice hilly 60km loop (barrow coast road - askam - kirkby moor), cut short after flatting twice in horizontal rain. 30km
wales was also a bust, cottage was 3km from the road down a boggy track, including a wade through a stream. my kingdom for an MTB. did plenty of forest walks instead.

thurs/fri
back at work. 3 punctures. conclusion: conti attack/force are not winter tyres :)
50km

saturday:
went out for 10 easy laps of regent's park. gusty headwind around north/east side.
cut short after 7, but was going fairly well. felt a bit rusty, niggling soreness in right ankle, but held 30-35kmh with a much faster chap, dropping the rest of our little chain gang :). 50km.

sunday will be a rest day, with a bit of swiss ball.

i bought myself a 'proper' HRM at xmas (polar CS200 CAD) - haven't really used them much before. so i'll soon have numbers coming out of my ears - let's hope they are going in the right direction!

Hey, just thought I'd drop by to say I like the title of your log - not that you sound unfit.

dreadful week :-(
must try harder. haven't yet set any goals for this year, other than to not have a repeat of my personal cycling disaster that was summer 2007.

week 2:
78kg

mon-fri
work commute only, though missed a day. warm all week (for jan), but very wet & windy. good for the soul.. not so good for the bike.
200km

saturday/sunday:
nowt :-(
drove 900km to cumbria and back to collect two very ungrateful cats.

another crap week. seem to be putting weight on. not surprising really...
i'm not getting enough done at weekends at the moment, so making the work commute count is getting more important. taking long-cuts, etc.

week 3:
>78kg

mon-fri
commute, missed a day. still wet & windy. as far as the commute is concerned, i'll go fixed-only from now on as it seems to encourage a bit more intensity over the short distance. saves a bit of wear'n'tear of the 10-spd too.
will also put the 'summer' gear (48x16) back on a few months early.
200km

saturday/sunday:
lazy weekend. next couple of weekends are booked up too.

week 4:
>78kg

mon-fri

commute, missed a day. still wet & windy.
legs felt empty on thurs/fri. friday was a real effort to do anything, may have caught the bug that's been going round.
200km

saturday
regent's park. still feeling a bit shitty. planned to do a few easy laps but ended up in a fast bunch. very windy. fastest lap 7m37.
80km

week 5:
<78kg

mon-fri
commute, missed a day. still wet & windy.
200km

saturday/sunday
walking weekend in peak district (shelf moor, mam tor). deep snow, high winds, awesome. wish i had an mtb ;-)
only downside was i picked up a knock on my knee, falling into a snow-covered hole. didn't hurt at the time but i can certainly feel it now (tuesday).
20km

that's quite alright, 'snot like there's much training going on... it's nice that the thread's not falling off the bottom of the page for a change
