Jin has a new training log, because his old one died somewhere in the ass, anyhoo.

Because of Jin's trip to China, then upon getting back injuring his tricep Jin has not trained for 12 weeks! :?

So going back has been harder than he thought...
Yesterday: Half an hour powerwalk to loosen up limbs, then five minutes of jogging is all Jin could manage =( Jin feels this is because he took up smoking again, bad bad Jin.

So, not to be discouraged, Jin had a shower (as if he needed one, ha!) and went off to work. After work Jin decided he was still a mega badass and looked around for someone to spar with at the gym, this went badly and Jin got beaten up by someone who he could of easily destroyed before China. Jin feels this is because of his lack of training and the other person being prepared for a fight next week!

Still, not to be discouraged Jin enters the "beginners class" for muay thai and is puffed out in the warmup phase, Jin is very sore because he left the class just before the cooldown, didn't stretch and is an idiot.

Jin now has clear plan as to what he needs to do. He is planning to have a fight in mid November:

Phase 0.25 Jin will rein in his smoking, caffeine and computer game addictions, these make Jin a very unfit boy.
Phase 0.5: Jin will establish basic fitness so he is able to do cardio & training 6 days a week, this will happen over 1 month
Phase 1: Fitness - long jog 4 days, fartlek 2 days, muay thai 6 days for 2 hours a day.
Phase 2: Jin will technique it up, he will also spar anyone and everyone to practice his blocking and head kicks.
Phase 2.5: Jin will work out how much weight he needs to lose and lose it.
Phase 3: Jin will win his fight.

ggnore.

Jin2 had once again been a bad, bad boy.. BECAUSE HE HASN'T UPDATED HIS LOG.
But not to fear, Jin2 has been training, slowly building it up again.

Monday:
No cigarettes, 2 coffees, no computer games.
4km(ish) walk/jog

Tuesday:
No cigarettes, 2 coffees, no computer games.
Jin2 is sore, did not jog.

Wednesday:
1 cigarette, 3 coffees, 2 hours of computer games (bad day).
4km(ish) walk/jog in morning.
Half an hour of sparring at night - Note to Jin2, needs to begin conditioning his legs again, much pain.
20 minutes bag work, particuarly focusing on switchkick technique and left high knee.
3sets x 8reps 100 pound squats
3sets x 20 reps 50 pound bench
50 pushups to Dead Prez's - 50 in da clip (very fast) =).

Thursday (today):
No cigarettes, 2 coffees, 2 hours of computer games (If I get my study done).
Jin2 has no training, difficulty walking after sparring will be right for Friday though!

Dead Prez!!!! (the guy is vegan, right?)

I had smoking for 4 years, especially when I was clubbing and working in Media Production in Hong Kong. I have quitted, so can you!

I was addicted to "Initial D" arcade game and it ruined my bass playing

Actually, "guys".
Listen to this, make your own mind up:

Yeah my little smoking habit is difficult to shake because all my friends still smoke, but when i'm in training mode I don't hang out with them as much so its not so much as an issue. Also I only go out once a fortnight when I'm in training mode so that would be the only real opportunity I have to smoke=)

Ha ha,INITIAL D! have you still got your card? ITS ON.

No Cigarettes, 1 Coffee, no computer games.
4km walk/jog this morning (starting off walking, then jogging, then sprinting) This is because at first, my darling Pomeranian is just waking up and wants to go back to bed, then shes happy to go my pace, then she gets excited and wants to run everywhere.

Anyhoo, Then Jin2 packed off to work ready for the day, After lunch the coffee machine broke down and Jin2 got no more coffee =(.

After work, Jin went and kicked bags, no sparring.
Then completed the BEGINNER class without skipping any bits or slowing down.. <---- Jin2 is getting fitter.

0 cigarettes, 4 coffees, no computer games.

2km walk/jog - I got out of bed late so only got time for 2k's <--- pathetic Jin.

Work.

1/2 pads. continued to improve switch kick, and 45 degree pivots.

1/2 hour technique training with Shihan: got slapped on the face, called "grandma", tripped over, laughed at. overall improved my checks, end result: legs much pain, but no beautiful bruises to show for it because I was wearing pads =(.

"Beginner Class" - got through, not that much sweat this time... Will also begin doing intermediate class directly after next week.

Also, left ankle beginning to seize up after too trauma, will have to wear ankle support for a while.

Note to Jin: Have to formulate weights program for legs and also begin boxing training again soon.

Note2 to Jin: stop eating junkfood.

Jin consumed: 3 coffees, 1 cigarette, 35 minutes of Dota ( Jin Won {he is teh shit}).

Jin did not run because he woke up very sore for some reason ???

Work.

Gym: Jin managed 4 x 3 minutes shadowboxing rounds.

Jin searched high and low, but the only person willing to spar against him was a noob 50kg boxer, so for 5 rounds Jin taught the kid (18yo) some basic sweet science... then as an (accidental) thank you, the kid uppercutted Jin in the balls  But to be fair Jin was getting irritated and the kid had gone into a clinch and because Jin is so much taller it just happened =(

Then Jin did the beginners class, no problems.

Jin woke up, did the "beginners class", went out... Hawthorn FC won the elimination final they were in = much beer consumed (which is ok, Sunday is off day).

Going out clubbing next.

Monday 10/9
No cigarettes, 3 coffees, no computer games.

Jin2 Was lazy, again, he looked out the window and it was raining... "ooh can't go running" = pathetic!

Work.

40 minutes of leg conditioning.
Solid beginners class <--- it would seem that phases .25 & .5 are coming to completion :D

Phase 1 begins tomorrow... which I have changed slightly.. I'm going to alternate between long jogs, short intervals running, long intervals running, and mixed sprint/jogging/shadowboxing/deathrun day.

Yeah, basically I was reading that cardio for kickboxing and most martial arts requires more anaerobic cardio than aerobic cardio which is pretty much what the intervals are about... whereas the the long runs have traditionally been to keep weight down for power-eating boxers.
They are meant to give you more "high-level endurance" and the ability to fight hard for however long your fight is =)
