Oly weightlifting comp log

Time to get a training log going!

Goals for the rest of the year - A BW snatch and a 125kg C&J by december.

Future goal - Take first place in the 94kg weightclass at the danish nationals.

Monday 26/07-10

Nothing particular exciting to note about todays training.

Muscle snatch
3x3 40kg - 3x3 50kg - 3x3 60kg

Snatch high pulls
3x3 80kg - 3x3 90kg - 3x3 100kg

Front squat
3x3 120kg

Standing ab pull-downs
5x8 50kg

Hey man. Good to see a log here.

What's your strength like on the less technical lifts? Squat, bench, deadlift? Front squat looks quite strong.

Haven't benched or done deadlifts for quite some time now, but back the it was DL - 1x5 175kg and Bench - 3x5 85kg (I'm horrible at the bench press, seriously, horrible) My BS is 3x5 145kg, but that'll hopefully improve some in august as I'm gonna do some serious squatting then.

Quite a difference from the bench to your overhead. If those numbers are anything like accurate you must be getting quite a bit out of you technique.

Do you train with a coach or as part of a crew?

I've never done comps before, but I'm hoping to compete soon though :)

I'm fortunate enought to have a coach 1on1 every time i train, so I'm getting my technique hammered down :D But I've always had good overhead strength. Back when I was benching, there was only a 10kgs difference between my BP and OHP.

But with the jerk, it's really all about how fast you can get under the bar and catch it :)

Good session.

How is your training structured then? Do you have a routine you follow each week, or does the coach mix it up more than that?

I've got a routine which I follow, but my coach mixes things around If weak points need fixing.

It's rather simple. I do my main lift which is either a full snatch/clean or a power version, then proceed to do high pulls and FS/BS. After that it's typicly assistance exercises and core work.

Friday 30/07-10

Clean and jerk
3x3 70kg - 3x3 80kg - 3x3 90kg - 3x2 100kg - 3x1 110kg - 1x1 115 (The clean was no prob, but failed the jerk :x)

Clean high pull
3x3 100kg - 3x3 110kg - 3x3 120kg

Front squat
3x3 100kg

Push Press
3x1 50kg - 3x1 60kg - 3x3 70kg

Standing ab pull-downs
5x6 50kg

wait, whats your notation like, you did three singles with 110 before 115?

thats good lifting mate, sounds like we have a new kid on the oly lifting block!

That's correct JP. I wasn't actually planing on doing 115kg today, but seeing as Spug was being all smug about doing a 75kg snatch the other day in the oly challange, I thought I'd retaliate by doing a 115kg C&J :lol: Hopefully it won't be long before I nail it.
