Either/both is fine by me. I lean towards July or August for Portland. I am curious: how many of you folks reading this are realistically likely to come to VFW-2013 if its held in Portland? Is anyone more likely to go if it is in Utah?

I am unlike to go anywhere farther west than Chicago for anything unpaid. I wish I could go.

i guess Portland or Salt Lake City would be the same money wise, since i'd need to cross the atlantic anyway. july wouldn't be optimal because of work. if i spend a week in Portland, then i could go to SLC and visit Frostfire afterwards if she will, or vice versa :D

why don't you start a poll? even if only 5 people are certain to participate, it'd be worth the effort.

hi,

I unterstand the vegan fitness board being an international forum to plan a vfw in the US, but we (Felix, me and the baby) won't travel that far.... neither to Portland nor to Utah...

So August is better for you sonic? I'll start a poll soon.

That's understandable Giulia, very few of us from outside of Europe have been able to make it to the VFWs in Europe - though I'd have particularly loved to have made it to Austria & Italia.

Its not, but its the same idea. There is a new one that is downtown (the one you linked is a 30 minute drive away). :)

I understand if people from the other side of the pond can't make it, which is a shame, but VFW2014 can be back that way ;)

I'd also say August is a good time to shoot for, its when most people have their vacation time so will be most convinient.

Sonic - I'd love to have you anytime! :)

If you have something near a nice pool, or something like that if I go, I'd be happy to help do some swim related lessons, etc.

My wife and I are likely to go to Colorado for a conference of hers. We'd take the kids too. So there's a MINUSCULE chance that SLC might work... although I don't know if I should vote considering it's still unlikely I'd make it.

trouble with the US meetups is people being so far and few between :)

but i think there should be a separate Europe VFW discussion going too for us on this side of the world, i'd love to go this year!

I'd second that. It's probably the first time I could realistically consider going but no way I could go as far as the US

Frost, I agree with everything you wrote - particularly about Sonic!

Rodolfo, If having VFW-2013 in SLC meant that you & your family would be able to make it, then I will happily change my vote to SLC! When & where are y'all likely to visit Colorado?

JP & blinki, I thought y'all Europeans were rich & had lots of vacation time? ;)

I'd love to see VF gatherings all over the place, though ideally they'd be staggered enough that folks who were able & wanting to do so could participate in whatever gatherings they wished.

Don't be silly kallefs - I'll need one of you to organize the fund raiser to bring me over so that I can finally meet all of you great folks, hang out in the gym, go out to eat, maybe lift some stuff & definitely walk around! ;)
