Yeah, this is splendid!
The china study and forks over knives seems to have big impact in the US. Not really that much here yet but the US is usually ahead with these sorts of things (both good and bad). So maybe in a few years we will see football (as in round ballers) and rugby players adopting this.
I have no doubt that for everything but perhaps bodybuilding a whole foods plant diet is as close to optimal as you can get.
