I just went jogging alone this morning as my daughter was at grandparents house.
On my route, there's a field of cows and I noticed a calf (not sure about that word, I mean a baby cow basically) slumped on the floor near the barbed wire. I stopped in my tracks and tried to see if it was okay... but it wasn't okay at all, there was vomit near it and it's mouth was kind of foamy. and it was trying to get up, and trying to 'moo' but was too weak.
I was the only jogger near by. I phoned the mayor and asked if he could contact the farmer, and he sounded quite upset too and said he would phone him right away. I had to go, although I hesitated to stay by it's side... I couldn't reach over and stroke it. I was just crying my eyes out, I'm impressed that the mayor actually understood what I was saying. i really hope the farmer will get their fast, he should be there by now.
:'( Makes me so sad. People who eat animals are just so egoitistical! Can't even control their own hunger for God's sake.
"It might sound naive to suggest that wether you order a chicken patty or a veggie burger is a profoundly important decision. Then again, it certainly wound have sounded fantastic if in the 1950s you were told that where you sat in a restaurant or in a bus could begin to uproot racism..."
