Any Badminton players?

Just curious if anyone else plays?

I'm fairly new to it, it's not a sport I'd normally like but I seem to really love it now!

I'm still at the stage of missing some very easy shots but improving.

I've played a little for exercise and it's fun. My problem is I begin to laugh when it gets hit quite hard -for some reason it amuses me as you try to hit it so hard and it goes nowhere well unless you have the right wrist technique

Used to love it at college, not really got back into it since. Used to be quite handy at drop shots particularly dummying them. Seem to remember it as a game you could have a good laugh at without taking yourself too seriously...

Badminton is officially the only sport where the missus can beat me, hence it is banned.

The only racket sport I'm halfway decent at, played for a club during my teens and got back into it while in Liverpool, playing a few times a week. Not had the chance since moving to London though. It's a great sport, although the singles game sometimes degenerates into a really gruelling physical slugfest.

haha. it would be the other way around in my relationship. my wife is way more competitive than myself. So I can only play games with her that I know she'll win or it's just not a good thing. I've been known to throw games of miniature golf just to keep her happy.*

* I'll deny this if ever confronted.

Hence we don't play games -- cards, dice, sport, "doctor"... oh wait i will play "doctor".

I'm playing again this evening. We usually do a couple of hours at the weekend too. Most of my opponents are better than me so it mean I get to play really hard, I'm the player who ends up on the floor most

I'm sure my fitness is improving because of it too!
