European Athletics Championships 2010

Postby SpugFab » Tue Jul 27, 2010 7:42 pm

Just watching this on BBC now - fantastic run from Mo Farah to win the 10,000 metres (no shock though, he was expected to), Chris Thompson won a close battle for silver.

Really enjoying the athletics this season, the diamond league coverage is free on the BBC website in the UK too. Not sure how well any of this is covered in other countries, but it seems there's more free coverage in the UK than ever.

Anyone else watching it?

Yeah - I'm on it ... I'm so happy Eurosport is a free channel :-) Saw the African champs too yesterday, it's great to have so much athletics on TV!

Yeah been watching this (as much as the wife will allow anyway!).

Didn't realise Mark Lewis-Francis was still competing?! Hard to get excited about any sprinting without the Americans or Jamaicans though, just not in the same league.

Great performance from Philips Idowu, though that young French guy might give him trouble in 2012.

I thought was a great championships overall. Loads of exciting races.

Highlights for me were the Mo Farah 5k/10k double and Chris Thompson getting a silver after all the injuries he has had. Don't understand why they didn't send Andy Vernon though (4th ranked in Europe this year at 5k).
