Robert Enke RIP

Postby xJimx » Wed Nov 11, 2009 5:23 pm

Robert Enke, expected to be Germany's first choice goalkeeper at next year's World Cup, committed suicide yesterday.

This is just so tragic. Seems that he was so upset by the death of his 2 year old daughter that he couldn't face life without her :(

Damn shame. The world of pro sports not a very welcoming place for men with mental health problems.

Don't think it's something special for pro sports.

Think many pro clubs and national associations have specialists working for them.

don't know if this is the case with his team and the german football association, but would assume so.

Think there might be even more attention than in amature sports and other working enviroments.

but it's a shame what happend.
