Head of the Charles, Boston 17-18 October

Postby ida » Wed Sep 16, 2009 5:33 am

I've just been selected to represent Uppsala University (well, that is to say if my stupid leg is OK by then) at the Head of the Charles River Race in Boston on Saturday the 17th of October.

From what I have understood this is a big spectator event as well as a rowing event, so I thought there might be someone here from VF who are going there to watch. If so, I would very much appreciate if you would cheer for me and my crew :)

We will also do a race against Univ. of Rochester earlier during that week.

Wow! Congratulations! Certainly hope you make it to Boston. Head of the Charles is quite an event. If you need a vegan guide, look me up when you're in town!

Cheers!

Excellent. Tips on restaurantes and such is very much obliged. We are arriving to Boston from Rochester on Wednesday 14th so there will be many occasions to try out the vegan food in Boston :)

Sunday is "free" for us so it would be the best day to arrange a VF meet-up if you are interested.

Just got an excited call from Ida. They placed fourth in the Club Fours Women race, out of 55 starting teams. As far as I understand the result list they seem to have started far back and struggled their way up. Good work :D

Good work!!!

Head of the Charles is an awesome event!
"The worker has the right to leave his boss, but can she do it? And if she does quit him, is it in order to lead a free life; where she will have no master but herself? No, she leaves to sell herself to another employer. She's driven by the same hunger. Thus the worker's liberty is only a theoretical freedom, lacking any means of realization; an utter falsehood."
