Oxygen uptake table?

Postby Linnéa76 » Mon Sep 14, 2009 3:18 pm

I've been googling for a table of the normal variation of oxygen uptake but can't find any, does anybody have one to share? I know my uptake level measured in ml/kg/min and want to check on what percentile of the normal variation that is, so what I'm looking for is a pretty extensive table with different columns for gender and age.

google for VO2max instead, and you'll find plenty.

I did find one, but not as detailed as I wanted, also I wonder if it's applicable when you've measured oxygen uptake during a sub maximal test?

Good question, I have only done max tests myself to estimate my own VO2max... after some quick googling it doesn't seem like submaximal tests are treated differently from max tests or any of the other test protocols there are.

Really? In that case, allow me to be very pleased with myself!! Cause that would mean my 54 ml/kg/min are well above the 90th percentile. 8)
And I'm only doing cardio once a week. :)
How about a "bragging about our oxygen uptake"- thread? You go next Fredrik, I bet your vo2 is really high! :D

Yeah, that's a very good number, especially if you're limiting yourself to just one cardio exercise a week. There seems to be lots of room for improvement :)

My last test estimated my VO2max to 60.4 ml/kg/min, at a body weight of 66kg. I'm probably a bit higher now (having dropped 2kg and probably increased my aerobic fitness due to an intense training and racing season that's just ending).

My coach, who is an elite cyclist, has an VO2max of 82 ml/kg/min
