Put me down for seven. A few months ago I could hardly do one and I was trying to train myself to do more, doing some normal ones and then going from the knees and doing sets. I found this whilst looking for techniques and info on proper form.

One Hundred Push-Ups

Maybe that's a challenge we could take on, eh?

Interesting site. You can improve loads by doing pyramids, sets and variations (eg raised feet), this site is handy because it gives a set programme so you know exactly what ou have to do. I'm tempted to have a go.

Go for it! My 1-armed Karate Sensei used to do 1-arm press ups by the hundred.

Maybe a new vegan challenge could be:
Knuckle press ups
Clapping press ups
Hindu press ups
10 minute time limit (again)
Power Overs

One arm pushups, I cant even begin to think about doing those. Total commitment there when you went for number 4!

[quote="Papaya"]variations (eg raised feet),

As Papaya knows, I love pushup variations!

I think for this the best 'training' would be feet elevated, hands on blocks, with a weighted vest (or resistance bands, or similar weight).

If you can consistently do 30 like that, you can probably bang out 50 or more 'standard' pushups.

Those sound like push ups for beginners. Either:

Raised widespread handles, feet on 4th stair, with a child on your shoulders, or

Plyometric Hindu Press Ups

Suggestion:
Do 1,2,3,2,1, with 20-30 seconds rest between each. This might build up your ability and you'll be up towards the 10 mark.
