[quote="XkillerX"]20 pressups after a complete iron pumping routine, with feet on bench and hands on dumbells.

if you're gonna do pressups, do them hardcore, or do them not.

Nice !

I think so.

And "after" could mean anything - 20 minutes, 5 hours, a week?

Plus it sounds to me like killer did regular pushups but his "complete iron pumping routine" was performed with feet on bench and hands on dbells. Which doesn't surprise me at all.

It does not surprise me at all that you have not posted a total yet.

Should I put you down for 0? Give you a total to beat?

[quote="Muay Jin"]Yeah the 50 they do in that song are really very fast and you end up doing pretty shallow ones, but it's still good.
Shame on you Hoff, only 40 for a boxer!

Shame on me. I have to start a contest at the gym. Thats the only way. I'll be back when my shoulder is ok.

I just did 14 pushups.
I've not done any pushups for ages, plus I'm a cyclist so have not much upper body strength, so that'll do to start with. :)
I'm sure I could improve on that soon, maybe work on the technique a bit.

[quote="tempehmomma"]Sorry dude I don't believe you used to do 1000 push-ups in a day.

1000 in a day is doable, they don't have to be done all in one session and are split up throughout the day. Of course nobody is going to be blasting out 1000 straight, that's impossible (well at least by a human).

I want to jump in this contest with a grand total of 14 (I really had to fight the last 4, its a good thing pauses are allowed!!!).

Me and my little brother are sort-of having our own push-up contest, so far he's winning :P . We do it where one person does 1, the second does 2, the first does 3, and so on until someone fails. I failed on my attempt for 16 of them :( No tennis ball, but my brother was keeping a close eye to make sure I did them proper!

I think it's doable but only for a minority of the population. Highly doubtful 1000 at a time as JohnBarleycorn claims full ROM good form (not half-push-ups) unless he was in prison, the military, or on "speed" in 14 minutes.

1000 / 14 minutes=71.4/minute
1000 / 16 hours=62/hour every hour over the course of the day.

I belong to a military fitness group on myspace. I'll ask the members how doable it is for a civilian.
