JBC - it was karate for me too, when we got something wrong our instructor gave us 10...I used to be able to do far more than 43....

Me too ! Back in the mad old days, I could do 1000 at a time. Not sure what purpose that really achieved though. Just showing off, really ! Didn't make me any better at karate. Or riding the bike !

That 44 really hurt me. I guess I could get 60, in a week or too, if I did some training. You too, doubtless.

1000? You're shitting me! Is that an extra '0'? I used to roll out of bed and do 100 in about a minute, and could easily do 50 then switch to clapping. But 1000.....

Some dude has a record by doing 1,500,000 in a year, that's 4000/day.
You can see my training log if you're really bored: www.veganfitness.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=16086&start=360

Used to do 1000 in the morning, and 1000 in the evening. Used to take 14 minutes, or something like that. But I had crazy stamina. Could probably have done more, but its boring, lets face it ! I always thought, once you can do 500, then additional 500's are quite easy. You aren't any fitter. You just condition yourself to doing them.

My best in a minute was 90. But the form wasn't great for the last few.

Just done 30 in one hit.
I've done more before. I'll have to work back up to it again.

I don't think I'll ever work up to two sets of 1000 in a day though.

Why not ?

Its not that hard ! Not exceptional at all. Anything over 500 is mental, not physical. Its more tedious than tough.

2000 would be exceptional, in my opinion. But 1000 is really not that hard.
Should I presume that's hands at shoulder length?

I do not really mind, for maximum reps I think most people will do them with arms slightly wider than shoulder width. What ever floats your boat.
And slowly, as the quicker you do them the more momentum you can rely on, and the less strength you need???

Fast/slow what ever works for you just bang them out and make sure you go all the way down.

Yeah the 50 they do in that song are really very fast and you end up doing pretty shallow ones, but it's still good.
Shame on you Hoff, only 40 for a boxer!

When I get over this dang cold I'll blast Jemmy off of the top!

20 pressups after a complete iron pumping routine, with feet on bench and hands on dumbells.

if you're gonna do pressups, do them hardcore, or do them not.
