With the excuses that one of my wrists hurts when I do this, I haven't done any push-ups at all in far too long & that I should be sleeping as it's 2am, I just tried as soon as I read this & got 18 done. I'll use this thread as inspiration to do a lot better. My records in the low 30s - as a goal I'd like to get to at least 50.

Every tried knuckle push-ups?

I find normal push-ups very hard on the wrists too, even when I'm strapped up, so I avoid them completely now & do knuckle push-ups instead.

I was just thinking the same thing after I posted so I tried doing it on my knuckles & got another 12 done with no pain! :D I wonder why it makes such a difference how we do them?

In the flat-hand position your wrist is flexed while taking a big load. In kunckles it's sttraight. Maybe your wrists aren't that flexible?

Try doing knuckle press-ups on cushions, you'll probably beat your total for 'normal' ones!

Also, knuckle press-ups make you look harder than the hardest metal known to man: diamond.

Oh yeah, I have to do knuckle push-ups! Regular ones are murder on my RA riden wrists.

I'm up to 25 and that is with the depth approval of my brother who is in the national guard yelling "break the plane" on each one  .

I just did a set of 51. There's more in the tank though. Next week I'll go for a ton.

I used a tennis ball under my chest to check my form, which was useful. I'm still not sure how good my form is though. I need a video camera!
