50 Burpee timed challenge

This was going on another board for people newer to burpee training, a 50 burpee timed challenge. It's a great way to finish a workout or even if you're really short on time a way to get your heart pounding.

Papaya and I thought it would be fun to do the challenge here as well, as we all know vegans are extremely competitive. This requires no special equipment, just a few minutes of your time and about 5 square feet of open space. To do a burpee, see the following link:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/rossboxing2.htm

We're doing the "add a pushup to the burpee" routine so it's a burpee pushup and a jump. The strength of the jump we'll leave up to you, it's hard to gauge so do your best.

Just post your times an I'll update.....

I'm afraid I'm with Xkillerx on this one, the push up kills me. 50 regulars is another story..........

So wait, you've done it full pushup and jumping as high as you can?

Damn guys. The man started the thread, created the table, posted the rules. What's with the subsequent whining?

Killer - take your "burpees without pushups" time to the holistic forum where it belongs.

killer's stepped up to the plate!

pushups: required
jumps: required, but hard to gauge 'as high as possible' so best efforts A-OK

you can do it guys... take a rest every ten for 15 seconds, whatever... you'll make it.

My first attempt at these suckers..
And before I give you the time, it was 10 o'clock at night, I just got back from 1½ aikido and I did a full workout at the gym this morning.

In my favor, I filmed it so have proof unlike the rest of the suckers on here!

Excuse the bad music on the radio that just about covers up my heavy breathing. My roof is pretty low so I jumped to touch the ceiling which you can hear every time.

A good way to piss off the people above and below you?

So lets call it a miserable 4:59 which will give me a nice easy target to beat.

good one, baldy.

pretty sure that you're jumping higher than i am (can't view this at work, but based on what you're saying about touching the cieling....)

4:59 is a fine time, i'm guessing you'll shave 2 mins off it when you're fresh and clean.

I included burpees in my pack of cards, so that's 85. I took 39:00. As I'm not sure when I did the 50th one, I suppose the 39:00 point would have to count. You can put that in the table if you want.

papaya, i put you down for 10 minutes, since you were doing 4 exercises, i divided by 4.....

i think it's a safe bet that you can halve the time
