Last night in class (karate), we had a student who does a program called "Cross fit". I'd never heard of it, or a burpee before last night, but I am beyond sore this morning.

We did it a little differently. In the version she taught us last night, you actually drop all the way to your chest, then pull back in and jump up.

Basically, I guess they run to a certain station, do ten push-ups, ten burpees then run to the next station where you do ten sit-ups and ten burpees... we had four stations and by the end, I was feeling pretty rubbery (as was all the rest of us tough guys... she was still bouncy and ready to go as she does a helluva lot more). Her arms were bigger than mine and she was barely winded. I feel like I got hit by a truck. I guess I need some more endurance training...

I'll try to post some scores after I get done moving...

This Cross fit thing sounds pretty disco really.

Yeah we also throw ourselves to the ground (like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvo394hjvGE) then kick our legs to the hands and jump with a clap.

hoffmeister: wow!! that's insane. you must have some killer lungs to match your strength.

OK i timed myself today. I will gladly take last place. 6:38.

i could see with a lot of practice getting to maybe 4:30, but more likely 5:00. no way i'll ever get sub 4:00. still fun to try.
