Lactose/Dairy free Protein Bars

Postby Scotennis » Mon Sep 27, 2010 1:07 pm

Can anyone recommend a protein bar or shake that's dairy/lacotse free. From what I've read Whey Protein Isolate would be my best bet.

Any help would be great cheers.

mate you are on a vegan forum, there are ONLY recommendations about totally dairy and other animal abuse free bars and ingredients :)

Whey is a dairy based product.

Holland and Barrett sell soya protein isolate in various flavours pretty cheap, the shop Up and Running (usually found in most big cities) sell Clif Builder Bars, delicious and dairy free with 20g protein. H & B also sell Trek bars which are more general-purpose energy bars but do have about 11g protein.

Various other powders/shakes and bars can be found on all kinds of websites and will deliver throughout the UK.

I would advise staying away from the Vanilla Almond, then. The first time I encountered them, the box barely lasted 2 days.

That's the problem with these things, and the very tasty South African brand buzz used to sell. They're so tasty I keep coming up with reasons I need some extra protein, e.g. I just did a big poo so I should refuel.
