For some reason.. they seem too easy for me, or I'm not doing it right.
edit: Oh yea.. and I'm doing it with dumbbells. I've been doing Craig Ballantyne's Turbulence Training to lose weight plus more.

Maybe you deadlift them instead? Do your knee angle change a lot? Do you push your ass backwards or do you stretch your back and stuff forward when lowering the weight?

yea perhaps I just need to up the weights. I'm not even sure where I'm supposed to 'feel it', if anything I feel it more in my stomach having to keep my whole body tense to keep proper structure. but hip flexors? I don't really feel anything special there either. it's kinda hard to explain anyways in word.

You should feel them in your hamstrings. It should feel like they're going to pop off the bone, like they're the string of a very taught bow. Google "Dan John squat video".
“Begin at the beginning,” the King said gravely, “and go on till you come to the end. Then stop.”

Actually... I can't even go that much down without rounding my back. I see videos of people doing it and their back is super straight and they go all the way down. I simply can't for some reason.
It may also be due to my scoliosis.

I guess, it seems like one side of my back becomes rounded and the other side follows?

can't sorry.
I wish I knew some excercises that would pinpoint the problem areas of my back though. The last chiro I went to wasn't too helpful..

i like my osteopaths! Recommend highly - although with the caveat that it is always down to who you see.
If you see someone who is used to deal with rugby players etc sports folk, it should be fine and very helpful.

With your knees kinda locked in almost locked out position you can't go very deep (will, without rounding your back that is.) If you do good mornings instead and bend your knees you can go way lower, obviously, but then it's not only from tilting the hip but rather change of tilt of your thighs.
