pre and post VFW

Postby XkillerX » Mon Jul 05, 2010 7:17 pm

If you want to roll your ass around germany, austria and switzerland for a couple of days before and or after VFW let me know so we can figure out something good!

Bodensee is beautiful by itself, and now imagine if we even manage to sneak into that swiss vegan hotel for a day or two ;)

My gf and I are arriving in Zurich on the Friday night beforehand and hanging around there for a few days, so we could meet up before then?

Is this thread just a cover so you could meet Kali earlier? 8)

DON'T!!!
It's really expensive and the food has become pretty lame and even disgusting! The only thing tasty is the ice cream and that's not produced by the hotel-crew. The current chef has no idea how to fix vegan dishes... I recommend not to waste time and money on that thing. Ask Jakob, he will confirm it.

[quote="XkillerX"]whoa, such a let down :(

But on the positive side, there is a pizzeria with vegan cheese and toppings some 45min from there, so not all is lost :) . Plus, if you go by Vienna we can allways make a trip to Schillinger.

That's a shame about the hotel, they need to ditch the chef. We need more fully vegan hotels and businesses, it'd be a shame to see it fail because of one bad chef. Is the breakfast ok. I'd still like to support them.

They had an awesome chef when I went there the first time (with Jakob and my gf)! The food was outstanding and worth paying a lot on occasion. But they seem to have ditched one chef after the other so you never knew what was coming to you when you went there.
Word is that there is no one in the hotel management who has an idea about business... only idealistoc vegans. Also, they definitely shouldn't call it a luxury hotel since the rooms and the service must be quite awful. :/ Alex and Simone went there on their honeymoon and went off to another place after a few days... ^^

i can absolutely sign what floey has written about the vegan swiss hotel. it´s not worth anything and costing a shitload!!!

For those who arrive in Zürich: if you have time definitely try "samses" . really good!

I'll be visiting Garmisch-Partenkirchen just before the VFW. I'm planning to climb Zugspitze (http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock/150322/zugspitze.html) and do some other hiking/via ferrata climbing. If anyone would be interested to join me, let me know! :)

We are looking as a weekend pre- or post VF in Switzerland in Vals, which is a 2 hour drive south of Zurich where we are flying in. There's an iconic mountain spa there http://www.therme-vals.ch/en/spa/and it'd be good either pre or post VF to prepare the body for the sports assault of the week or to recover! We could potentially carpool there and back and share some accommodation and self-cater. We're going anyway so PM me if you're interested in carpooling etc
