Has anyone tried to take a Heavy Gripper, or a Sampson Chest expander on an airlpane in the carry on luggage, and if so, did they allow you to?

i would be suprised if you would be able to get such a piece of metal with you to the cabin
I've flown with grippers before but they have been in the luggage.
