London, what is there for the vegan?

Postby RAZ » Thu Dec 15, 2005 4:35 pm

I'm in London for a week to see some friends and family.
I would like to know where to go to find the best products??
Restaurants, organic shops with vegan products and vegan friendly clothing shops would be useful.
Thanks for any advise!
Raz. :D

Cheers Tarz!
I ate at a place I found on one of those last night and I intend on visiting many more! :D
It's not just my bags that will weigh more on the way home!

Sorry RAZ, I hadn't realised you were actually here yet.

I like Neals Yard ( a courtyard off Neal Street ) in Covent Garden. There are oriental vegan buffets all over the place. There is a veggie/vegan fast food place in Soho - RedVeg. If you go to Camden market, there's a stall there that does a variety of vegan burgers. Obviously a lot of ethnic eateries will have vegan options.

Holland & Barrett is the main health food chain here. There's a few GNC shops in London too.

I am not sure where you are staying and intending to visit, so can't really be more specific at the mo?

Have fun. :D

Tarz.

The vegan thai/chinese buffets all around the centre are great. I'm always trying to find excuses to go to London so I can eat there. The best one I think is in Great Chapel St, off Oxford St.

There's also a couple of Indian vegetarian buffets next to Euston station. Most of the stuff is vegan.

I'm sure London is the best place in Britain to eat out.
Going shopping? Take a carrier bag to re-use.
