Vegan Ice Cream in Cascadia - Portland & Vancouver

Postby loveliberate » Fri Jul 03, 2015 8:11 pm

Vegan Ice Cream is a nice treat anytime - better still in the unusually hot weather we're having here in Cascadia! While there are good options for us at most stores in the region, there are far fewer in restaurants and ice cream places. Happily, this is changing quickly and I want to share a couple of articles that cover places in Portland, Oregon (USA) and Vancouver, British Columbia (CA).

As I type this, I'm sitting in the Los Gorditos mexican restaurant (SE 12th and Division) in Portland. While this isn't a Vegan or even vegetarian place and they don't (yet!) offer vegan ice cream, I'm thrilled to listen as people order their meals. Why? At least 75% of what is being ordered is off of the Vegan menu!!

It just keeps getting more vegan-friendly out here in Cascadia - please come see and *taste* for yourself! :-D

I'll be looking forward to sampling some of that vegan ice cream when I come to visit in the fall (ice cream is always good, regardless of the weather)! :)
