London September 12-15th ish :)

Postby KaliBaby » Fri Aug 28, 2009 3:40 pm

My big flight over will have me in London on the 12th and I'll be in the city until the 15th. After that, I'm moving to my university suite in Norwich :D Soooo excited!!!!!!

Does anyone want to meet up while I'm there for those few days? My mom, her man and I will mostly be doing touristy stuff but we don't have definite plans.

Let me know

Damn I'm not getting back to the UK until the 19th. It's a mission to travel Norwich-Southampton according to my friend there but maybe we can find some time to meet up in London a few weeks later?

I'll be getting stuck into my final year dissertation and thinking thoughts about giving up and dropping out and moving somewhere without a winter or uni work by about mid-October (birthday on the 15th if anyone wants to motivate me to organise vegan birthday-cake-eating-centred activities) and a trip to London would be the perfect distraction...

Baldy when would you be free?

HI Kali yes I may be able to meet up with you then depending on whether I have got a job then or not.

Sight Seeing: I love the Tate Britain and the Tate Modern which are Central London art galleries and the British Museum is also cool. For fashion and crafts the V&A Museum is also very good. All of these are free to get in to.

NB there is a good stall selling second hand books outside the British Film Institute cafe near Waterloo station. Hayward Gallery (interesting modern art) is also in that area.

Hey

Didn't notice this thread earlier, sorry.

Am sure we could do a VF meetup for then. Maybe Tibits this time?

a friend gave me her phone she used while in England so I should have a phone number to call when I get there. if that particular weekend doesn't work, I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities to meet up.

Wow, not heard of Titbits before & that food boat system sounds grand.

Reckon I might have to go there instead of Beatroot for once when in town this weekend. :D

hey sorry I meant to update this thread more. supposedly I need a new SIM card to activate my cell so won't have a contact other than email until I get one. I was thinking maybe we could plan for another time to meet up, even in just a few weeks time. since my mom and her bf will only have a few days in London, and also with me, I think it's best if I be a good daughter and not run off to meet other people just yet haha.

a meeting in the near future would be great though! ahhhhh I can't believe I'll leaving home tomorrow!!!! do British people think American accents are annoying?

Only if they are rude!

I'd offer to meet you - but I think that the sheer number of children would probably be toooo many rofl...

I agree with LPG about the accents!
Hope that your flight goes well!
Shame we can't meet up with you next week but keep us posted.
