3th Dec London Dinner Meet up!

Postby ^toby^ » Fri Apr 17, 2009 9:42 am

So Far the plan is:2-7Dec, 12-16Dec London; 8-11Dec Berlin

Hey Englishwomen and Englishmen,

Mangomagic and I have booked our cheap flight to Heathrow and cheap earlybird tickets to All Tomorrow's Parties - Nightmare Before X'Mas curated by one of my favourites band My Bloody Valentine

We will arrive at England on the 2Dec midday, probably go to London or somewhere else and will go to see the amazing bands at Minehead 4Dec-6Dec and will have fun in the rest of the empire til 16Dec Midday.

I guess we'll mainly be in London and Minehead and maybe go to Brighton for short visit.

Is anyone going to the festival? Up for meetups around then?
Is anyone available to meet up?

Any tips about visiting places near Minehead?

I stayed in www.ota-berlin.de when I was in Berlin.

Not sure of your budget but they are self-catering apartments which suited us. There is an organic shop literally a few yards away which sells fruit and veg and lovely vegan snacks and it's really central. Fab location.

A day trip to Brighton is plenty although it's nice to stay the night as there is some great stuff on in the evening. You can check out events closer to the date I guess. Again, just taking a wander around the laines, the pebble beach, it's got a great vibe. Brighton is about an hour on the train from London.

Hmm, what I liked best about Berlin was generally wandering around, people watching, art exhibitions and checking out vegan eats :D Lots and lots on at night music-wise. We just looked up a weekly magazine when we got there and made our choices of what to go and hear. There's a link somewhere about where to eat in Berlin from earlier this year.

Cool. Lots of great places in London. Food options are easily as good as Melbourne (except no LOTF :?).

I'm living in Hackney at the moment but by December who knows. Probably still somewhere on the east side. May have room, may not.

Liking it, just chillaxing at the moment and putting off the whole need to work thing for as long as possible...

Did more research and with help from people from indie music forum, I've found some cool places to get Mods stuff.

So the meet up will be 3rd Dec.
And my lady and I have picked Inspiral from Abfab's suggestions.
so see you guys there.

"Gorgeous hippy lounge-style place, a little out of the way from central central London, but in a funky area (Camden). All vegan, average price £12, good desserts. And LOADS of wacky ice-cream flavours to try! I had Lavender ice cream when we went! :-) "

Anyone know where can I get a copy of Dan John's "Never Let Go" in London? It will be a good read for the 20hrs + Flight
