Can anyone recommend decent places to eat/visit in Berlin? I'll be there for a few days in early April.

Cheers

I second that, yellow sunshine is where it's at if you like vegan fastfood :D .

Hans' Wurst all vegan cafe - the food is simple but great. I went once and tasted the smoked tofu and sauerkraut sandwich and the creamy mushroom noodles. Both were yummy. They have a website with hours and location info.

go to yoyo foodworld in gärtnerstraße (friedrichshain), it's so much better than yellow sunshine in my opinion.. :P

otherwise there are a few in prenzlauer berg too, maya's deli and hans wurst which are said to be really good although i've not been myself.
la mano verde is impressive since it's a vegan gourmet, although it's rather expensive.. but nice food there.

I deeply recommend VÖNER! Vegan Döner Kebap: http://www.voener.de
Boxhagenerstraße 56 in Friedrichshain, close to the Ostkreuz S-bahn-station.
Not to be missed.

If you like falafel Berlin is a great town, just make sure you don't get the microwaved falafel that some lazy bastards sell.
Perharps the most delicious falafel joint is Dada Falafel at Linienstrasse 132, close to the Oranienburger Straße S-Bahn-station.

Yellow Sunshine is not a very cozy restaurant but their menu is not to be underestimated. Download it here: http://www.yellow-sunshine.com/speisekarte_A3_eng.pdf

If you're out partying, it's almost 03:00 and you want something else than falafel or just a pita bread with salad (sometimes refered to as vegetarischer döner) then go to Kreuzburger and get a decent Tofu-burger.
There is one Kreuzburger joint in Kreuzberg and one in Prenzlauer Berg: http://www.kreuzburger.de

Nah, Tante Horst is just open for everyone.

I highly recomend "Majas Deli". Good food (the sweets/cakes/cookies are amazing) and probably the most friendly service in all of Berlin. They are not open on weekends though.

And hands down, best Falafel is "Moe’s Kleiner Imbiss" (King of Falafel) Graefestr. 9.

Enjoy Berlin and check out the sowiet monument in "Treptower Park".

Can you chip away at the Berlin Wall today if you visit Berlin? Are you allowed to go to Berlin and chip away a piece of the berlin wall yourself? Is it illegal to do? Also, how are venders selling pieces? Of course, a lot of the pieces they sell are fake, but some are real. What stops people from just hammering away a piece for themselves instead of buying one from a vender?

The police might.
There are only few places where it still stands and I would hate to see them all getting picked apart.
Its just a piece of stone you gonna get out of it.
