Vegan chow and folks are pretty rare up here on the North coast of Ohio, USA! Chrissie Hynde, of the Pretenders fame, opened a vegan place in Akron, I've yet to visit. She used to serve me eggs at Jerry's Diner in Kent when I was a lacto-ovo vegetarian in the 70s. (she called my type "whole wheats" in waitress shorthand for long hair and flannel shirt sorts as contrasted with the depressed artist in black common there) Mostly I eat Lebanese when dining out, and of course, there are Asian options. Udupi is a tasty South Indian Vej franchise we have one of here, though you have to be careful about clarified butter and yogurt. The yuppie healthfood supermarkets have a lot of vegan options, right next to their organic meat offerings. I guess we need to grow our vegan base if we want the options "hipper" places have. Soul Vegetarian was great for down South adaptations, now long gone.

Any vegans on here near me?
