This is one I had a while back, but looking at the picture now makes me want to do it again this weekend...

The sausages were taifun garlic herb flavour, with vege-deli bacon. Would have been even better with a bit of scrambled tofu and some baked beans.

I love a fry up

I like to mix the beans and mushrooms with a bit of pickle in them for that extra yumminess.........

Think I'll treat myself to one this coming weekend.

It's not a real fry up without potatoes. Preferabily as a tattie scone. I have toast, sausages, beans, potato waffle, scrambled tofu, tomatoes, tattie scone and oatcake. It's breakfast perfection.

Potatoes (as scones or potato cakes) in a fry-up breakfast is big in Scotland and Ireland, but not so much anywhere else.

I always have scrambled tofu in mine, plus fresh (not tinned) tomatoes on toast, sausages and rashers or tempeh. I tend to include sautéed potatoes as well, as they're quick. No to mushrooms.

My fry ups as well as the usual beans and mushrooms have cherry tomatoes, peppers, asparagus spears and toasted pine nuts! Probably not a fry up in the true sense of the word but well yummy!

god I miss pine nuts, we used to have them relatively often in the UK, but they're so, so expensive here. Surviving with cashews... I s'pose... sigh

Am in UK too and yes they are hell expensive especially organic ones! I eek them out and only sprinkle a few on. I find they make a big difference to a healthy but possibly lack lustre meal! Mate showed me a way to toast them with in a fry pan with rock salt which brings out the flavour!

I love this forum, if for no other reason than for the British/Other side of the Pond cultural lessons. Had never heard of a "Fry Up" before, but now I am enlightened and I have to try it out sometime.
