yah i agree, di caprio is really good in this movie.

frank abagnale ended up working with the fbi for many years, in their anti-fraud departments teaching them all his old tricks... kinda like an ethical hacker.. good to see that he turned things around.

funniest part of that movie was the joke by tom hanks.... "knock knock", "who's there?", "go fuck yourself!".... classic :)

funny thing is, my dad and uncles used to say that joke all the time. they're from the Bronyx. it was their "tough guy, go get bent" response

ughhh please don't hate me but I don't think Tom Hanks is an especially good actor. does anyone else feel like he plays the same role(s) over and over again? don't even get me started on "Cast Away" :?

whatever credibility he had, he lost it in that movie where he was in the airport with zeta-jones.

I think Tom Hanks is one of the most over-rated actors ever! I'd say he's good in a few of them though to be fair, notably Catch Me If You Can and Big for example, but for me he's made me cringe in some of his other films.

I dont like tom hanks or leonardo at all. but i liked this movie.

yes much over-rated actors. as is much of hollywood. however this film i enjoyed cause it was based on a true story. and i think the actual true story of Frank Abignale Jr is fascinating and inspiring.

I too loved the movie.

However, my wife's uncle actually knows Frank Abignale Jr., and says that he is a prick that made up most of his story to his own agrandizement. Mr Abignale, to him, is mostly a self-promoter (as he was in the movie), and even his book (and especially movie), as to be taken as lies and embelishments rather than fact... or be taken in as a dupe just as Abignale did in real life.

Then again, my wife's uncle work(ed) for the FBI doing finance stuff, so he's got a thing against "bad guys"... so this might be all his own personal BS against Abignale being wicked bright. I don't know.

But I would take that movie with a grain of salf, especially since it claims to be based on "fact".

I liked the movie a lot. But less because of the "fact" part, but more of how one person f*cked the banking system.
Context is everything.

Interesting how this can be the case sometimes, isn't it?

A comparable would be John Travolta & Nicholas Cage, two terrible & overrated actors in my opinion who usually do their best to ruin films they're in seperately.

But Face Off was/is awesome!

Oh I disagree Toothache... John Travolta was superb in Pulp Fiction, I'll give you that everything else he's been in has been shite
