Weird and wonderful cover songs

Postby Rochellita » Tue Oct 17, 2006 1:28 pm

What are you favourites

At the moment mine are:

A Case of You- Tori Amos (original Joni Mitchell)
Embrace- How Come? (original D12)
Willy Mason- the Message (Grandmaster Flash)
ne me quitte pas- Nina Simone (this is more weird than wonderful because Nina Simone singing in French is truly bizarre) (Jacques Brel)
Gloria- Patti Smith (original Them)
Hurdy Gurdy Man- Butthole Surfers (original Donovan) (more weird than wonderful)

Always eager to hear unusual covers so if you have any- post them here please!

Sunshine of your love was written a cream original ;) .

Yeah, that's one of my favourites too.

And also:

Slayer & Ice-T - Disorder (Exploited)
Dead moon - Play with fire (stones)
Motorhead - Leavin here
Guitar wolf - Satisfaction (stones)

In general I dont like covers, I have yet to find one that is better than the original.

I disagree. Every Metallica cover of a Diamondhead song is 10x better.
