I disagree. Every Metallica cover of a Diamondhead song is 10x better.

I disagree. Am I evil kicks ass in original, metallica has hardly added any value at all to it.

Agreed - classic.

Tough choice. May have to come back to this thread, but a few that sprung to mind;

Clash - Police & Thieves (as Lilou said), also 'Police on my Back,' and 'Armagideon Time'
Stiff Little Fingers - 'Johnny Was'
Dietotenhosen - 'Cunt in the Mirror' (if this can be classed as a loose cover of 'Guantanamera'
DMB vs Tiesto - The Space Between - raped in the name of dance some may say, but beats the original I say :)

This can be said of so many songs lately. Everytime I'm in the gym in a class, it seems someone has made a dance cover of something, nothing is sacred, every song is game.

People are even making dance covers of dance covers of disco (like SBI making a dance cover of Hung Up from Madonna, which is clearly partially ripped off from Abba)

Then there's HeavyDance's cover of Thin Lizzy's Out in the Fields :lol: :lol: :lol:

which reminds me, the clash's cover of pressure drop is worth a mention. maybe not better than th maytals original, but just as essential (same could be said for their police and thieves could it not?)

Yeah, pressure drop is a top one as well. Junior Murvin's version of police and thieves is great. I think coz they were covering songs in a pretty different style, both the originals and the covers stand out.
