Gentle Ben and His Sensitive Side at the Brisbane Powerhouse

Swamp blues/jazz with a singer who has to be heard/seen to be believed. Mad and hot. My favourite local act these days.

Man Must Die (just saw the end of the set, liked them)
Bleeding Through (brilliant!)
Hatebreed (got me hooked)
Machine Head. (headlining)

MH were brilliant, played loads of old stuff, visited every album and did some amazing stuff off the new one. One of the best gigs I've been to.

And they finished the main set with 'Block'...couldn't believe it!

The Stranglers in Paris at the Bataclan a couple of days ago.

Anglo / French relations were sorely tried when the English fans basically "took their end". Punches were thrown and grown men behaved like children: which is nice.

Anyway it all turned out ok and at the end the entente was once more cordialle.

It was the BEST stranglers gig I've ever been to. Baz and Jean Jacque were on fine form and JJ's base was totally brutale. Dave's keyboards didn't come across too well but they never sound great at the front.

Jet was missing and subbed by Ian.

Opened with Time to Die, Go Buddy Go and Grip.

Ripped through Nice n Sleazy, Duchess, Retro Rockets, Toiler, Nuclear Device, Straighten Out, and some other stuff

And for the Encore gave us Sometimes, 5 minutes and, of course, Heroes with JJ ripping up his base.

Sadly, no more Stranglers till June when I've got tickets for their Glastonbury warmup (couldn't be bothered with all the fucking Hippy Shit that goes with Glastonbury) in Frome.

Saw Cock Sparrer and Agnostic front

Cock Sparrer were brilliant. One of the highlights of the gig was the sea of fred perry shirts and shaved heads (mine included)

Agnostic Front were great and filmed the gig. I hope they include me falling over in the pit

Well there I go, after thirty years my wish to witness Jello live on stage has come true. It was shocking that there were hundreds of spectators, mostly older than me, wtf. that hasn't happened for at least ten years. Jello is 50+ but he still puts on a show and then some. The new band is good, the songs are good too, but the lazy audience seemed interested only in dancing to goldie oldies, jeebus chrysler...

And then on the way home the president's armored limo convoy almost rammed me off the road (that's serbian democracy for your ass!)

And then I finally got back to my city and IT STINKS. Literally. of mercapthane and other chemistry.

....it''s a holiday in cambodia!

it's tough kid, but it's life...

I was at/played This Is Hardcore in Philly as the last big thing I was at. I used to hike all over for shows but now I kinda just hang around town to work/finish school. Blah.
