Just saw AC/DC tribute band 'Angus' play in my little town, in the field where I take my dogs and do intervals with the club. I was really suprised how good Angus were, the vocalist sounded like Bon Scott AND Brian Johnston, good lead guitar and tight rhythm section like the original.

Last week Thursday and again on Sunday I went to watch Have Heart on the final leg of their world tour. Both were really great shows. So few decent bands come to South Africa.. Oh yes, they were touring with Shipwreck A.D, but they just couldn't be compared to Have Heart.. even though some of the musicians were doubling up for both.

^I could hardly walk the following day, never mind race. Next time you get the chance though, do not miss them. They are unique.

I saw the MACCABEES twice the other month, so I suppose you could say I'm a bit of a fan.

Saw The Oysterband on their 30th anniversary tour the other night. They played the new, clean, re-opened Band on the Wall in Manchester - a legendary band in a legendary venue. And they had nice beer. In glass (not plastic) glasses.

Saw Them Crooked Vultures last week. Their line up includes lead and rhythm geetars from Queens of the Stone Age, John-Paul Jones from Led Zep on bass and Dave Grohl on drums. I'm not familiar with their recordings but they were good. But if everyone with a guitar had left stage and Grohl and had been left alone it would have still been worth watching. That was by far the most impressive drumming I ever saw.
