The Path of Resistance reunion!!!

Anyone else ridiculoulsy excited about this? There's a new album in the spring and they're playing London on the 1st May. Given that all 5 members of Earth Crisis are in the POR line-up then this is probably the closest we'll ever get to an EC reunion.

For anyone who doesn't know, Earth Crisis were the biggest vegan straightedge band ever. Also remarkable for the fact that they never sold out even though they all got old, got married and had kids - unlikely most of the other high profile bands of the 90s.

There's no way I'd ever have gone vegan without the influence of bands like EC so I shall be going to pay homage in May. Anyone else going?

Hopefully they'll get around to doing some US dates.

The rumour has it that the new lyrics are to be centered around the issue of veganism not straight edge. That would be awesome news! Especially that Karl Buechner is an author of really good vegan lyrics (songs like "The new ethic" and "Morality dictates" are pure genius).
The henchman is the human analogue of the suffering multitudes who like good dogs sit and lick for their reward.

I agree that the lyrics were totally inspirational. Other vegan bands were/are maybe more poetic, but Karl's lyrics got straight to the point and had a serious impact on me as a teenager.

"Reject the anthropocentric falsehood......." Classic!

Cool. I haven't been to a hardcore show in years, but if they come by Florida I would try to make it out

Here are the lyrics to a new Path of Resistance song "Best of my best":

won't stray from the path
that my heart has set for me
disconnect myself from
all the cruelty

( Chorus )
when I look back there is nothing
that I could regret
the best of my best
when I am compassionate

vanity, laziness
put to an end
to that weakness
took my time
pushed ahead
till I was free
from the sickness
fields of grain
for feed
waste wild land
pollution from
factory farms
contaminated products
leave peoples health harmed
the horrors of the slaughter house
to most their
awareness is nil
time to force the issue
face the answer
its better not to kill
an unsustainable
destructing process
weigh it out don't deny
its time to leave it all in the past
The henchman is the human analogue of the suffering multitudes who like good dogs sit and lick for their reward.
