I would've agreed with you, except I'm not really sure that the 1960s are counted as the distant past

They oftenget confused by the fact that they are almost half protein themselves.

oops, been away from here for about a month and had to coem in and comment on music
I voted for the eighties cpos that was when I was a sad teenager. The Smiths, the Cure and lots of obscure NZ music that msot of you will never have heard changed my life. Now I dont even own a stereo but I watch the music channel on TV and seem to like all sorts of weird and wacky stuff. did that song by a german cartoon crocodile (Schnappi I think) stay at number one for ages anywhere else or was that just a new Zealand thing??

speaking of obscure NZ music- I've been looking for some old stuff by the Chills- but can only find one CD on Amazon for like £32! the Tall Dwarfs stuff is even harder to find

I'm at a loss. Most of my favorite bands have been creating stuff for three decades (consistently good stuff too). It looks as though everyone here can be divvied up into piles of 80s death rock/alt stuff (The Cure, The Smiths, etc.) and metal-ish. Sounds like everyone I was friends with in high school, including myself.
