So a short film (which you can enjoy online) from Harmony Korine and 'interesting' Die Antwoord crew. It's funny.. in a Harmony Korine kind of way (remember the sky diving nuns anyone?)

"The Last Temptation of Christ" from 1988. It was banned on VHS but sneaked out on DVD. Liked it, made me think a lot and in retrospect the backlash was totally out of proportion.

Thought the trailer was shit, so didn't bother watching it at the cinema, but saw it on DVD and thought it was lovely. If you like Amelie, you'll probably like this.

I am Number Four

Had never heard of this, but it got good ratings on Internet Movie Database, so gave it a go. It's a teenage action fantasy about a boy alien battling to stay one step ahead of nasty aliens. Well-acted, well-scripted and lots of heart for a teenage film.

sherlock holmes 2 - and of course 1 they are very nice i espcalliy the charcter of sherlock holmes - his very inspirational - like a super hero with no super powers

Saw this today, french/belgian movie about the life of a cyclist in the 70's. It was filed under drama in the public library but it's more like a comedy; not a masterpiece but some gags are quite hilarious and the 70's feeling is nailed. People into cycling could enjoy this.

I knocked out the first five episodes each of Portlandia & Game of Thrones. More screen time in a few days than I've had in weeks.

Disgraced based on a book by J M Coetzee. The book is very dark and bleak, the movie even more so. Not something that I really recommend to watch unless people are into that kind of thing. J M Coetzee is vegetarian and has done some animal rights talks, he does not shy away from being very graphic though. Those that have been to Cape Town will spot a few places we visited in VFW.
It is on iPlayer at the moment for peeps in the UK.


I suppose this movie is equally bleak, but has Keira Knightley in it. Always going to be tough to put such a long and epic book into a movie. Was enjoyable to watch, very clever use of the set and scene changes. Not sure how easy it would be to follow the plot without already having read the book.

A movie i really liked is "Dragon Hunters" now remembered it - not sure most people will like it but i really enjoyed it

waiting to see "cloud atlas" it has potential to be very good or very bad

I realy liked the book, good news it turned into a film.

I saw The Hunger Games at the weekend. Good.
