Here's a book that I'd like to recommend: "Venus with biceps - A pictorial history of muscular women".
Like the title suggests, you get a bit of a history lesson and also lots of photos going back to the 19th century.
It's quite fascinating to read about strongwomen from hundred years ago and see them posing for pictures,
even if the styling often looks pretty weird to the modern eye!
