If I ran by feel I would go out at sub 3min pace for the first km and then when I felt crap Id slow right down with the rest of em! lol!

On a flat course you gotta have a goal time and then stick to that pace NO MATTER WHAT. No matter if you feel like going faster at the start or slower at the end. Its all about pacing. Look at the negative splits of world records etc.

I ran a 17:00 for 5k USATF certified course in Brooklyn last Wednesday. I started about 50th and finished 7th overall.

When it hurts I say 'dude, just keep on pushing and think about how you can bragg afterwards!' That is like EPO to my ego.

Ran a 4:53 mile in the Bronx on Friday night. USATF certified.

Ran a 16:56 at a 5k in Brooklyn the week before.

Im finding that eating light before your event vs heavy makes a HUGE difference. I still pound in the cals but just make sure I havent eaten a big meal at least 5 hours before my event. I make sure I have water and carbs in my bag for post race recovery though.

Race light, eat/drink heavy after. ;)

Excellent times, ha! Nicely done! I like that you were 34 for the 5k and 33 two weeks later for the mile.

A 10 mile pb for me and another milestone in my efforts to show the world vegans don't have to be very fast runners :)

1:27:27 at the Cotswold Classic 10 mile (road race with hills).
