Congratulations Konstatin.

nice to break a barrier

Wonder if you can run faster on the marathon with your half marathon time, if you are better at shorter distances, or both.

Hi Dc runner,

Thank you for posting your time.

in order to be able to compare and keep the table a little bit clear I will not include 8k race result, but with much pleasure i will add your results over distances included. if there is high demand for a specific other distance we can have a look. Don't let this stop you from racing or sharing your results!!

would be cool to race in the same race one day.

Thanks DC Runner and Runner (are you two related? ).

Runner, I've seen the macmillan table and it predicts me as somewhere around 3:15 for marathon, which I cannot imagine doing. This is strange because my HM time is much better than my 10k and 5k times. I am no sprinter! This indicates that endurance is my thing and I should be better at longer distances. Maybe it's because I've done most of my running around 10 miles.

For the early part of the marathon I was cruising at about 8:30/mile and don't think i could have gone much faster for long. This would have only put me at 3:40 even if I could maintain it.

In other words, I don't understand my running!

First of all it´s great you broke the 4 hour barrier.
I think you like anyone else has a speciality. As you wrote you are running many 10 milers can influence the way you race as well as your training methode. if you are interested in improving your shorter distances or the marathon you might want to do more specific training related to the distance. I just did a 10k on track that I´m not satisfied with. I think this comes from a lack of miles I make. Hopefully my shorter distances will benefit from my different training (more strength and speed work). Basically a combination from training and rece tactics could change your end result, but problem is that the marathon distance doesn´t give you as much oppertunities to race as lets say 5k.

good luck!!!

well guess many of us are related, we are vegan, doing sports, in this case running :)

The problem with the marathon is that people always tell you to start slow. I find it easier just to start at goal pace and keep it up. If I burn out I just quit. I hate playing it save, sometimes you just have to go for it.

5 mile PB for me today at the local 'OX5 Run' 38:01 (I was quite pleased with it but see it's the slowest male 5m on the list).
Probably the fastest vegan elf at Abingdon parkrun

For sure bro!

I ran both these pb times solo. I feel I can run faster in a pack cos its like cycling and you push each other. I have a half marathon this weekend so lets see what I can do.
