Austin Marathon and V-curious runners

Postby Lovely.Rita » Tue Nov 02, 2010 8:47 pm

hi all,
so I signed up for the Austin Marathon which will take place on February 20th 2010 in, well, Austin TX duh :) Anyone interested in joining?
A friend of mine signed up too and she seems curious about the vegan diet and marathon training. So, I'm wondering, what's your favorite reference (book, article...) for v-curious runners? I have the Thrive Diet book and like it a lot, but I'm sure there is a multitude of other literature sources. It's probably been discussed elsewhere on the forum, but why not start another thread... I like starting new threads :) Thanks in advance!

There's no way I'll be running that marathon with you since running 10k almost kills me, but good luck with your training!! If I'm able to get down to Austin that weekend maybe we can meet up for lunch or dinner. There are several good veg restaurants there. My favorite is Mother's Garden, it's vegetarian but they have a lot of great vegan options. The vegan lasagna is delicious.

Thanks for the dining tips!
it would be fun to get together and eat lasagna :) You still have about 16 weeks to train; that's plenty of time for a half marathon or even a full one! think about it ;)
