Being deep in the woods and all, this was not a spectator friendly course, hence the limited action shots.

Concentrating on breakfast real early on a terribly cold morning.

"Sad" is one way to describe it. That was more completely and totally exhausted / the beginnings of near shock. It only got worse from there.

Breakfast was 2 english muffins with peanut butter before the drive, and then a plain english muffin about an hour and a half before the race.

Where was this? I immediately imagined Tecumseh MI.
"The worker has the right to leave his boss, but can she do it? And if she does quit him, is it in order to lead a free life; where she will have no master but herself? No, she leaves to sell herself to another employer. She's driven by the same hunger. Thus the worker's liberty is only a theoretical freedom, lacking any means of realization; an utter falsehood."

It was in Southern Indiana, on the Tecumseh trail.
