Thank you, I am glad you enjoy my blog. I have a 20 mile race pm Saturday. I think I am going to run it hard and fast as a trial run for the Twin Cities Marathon that I am running on October 5. Or do I run as a final long run, slowly. With a 100k on October 18 I will be all set for my 100 mile at Javelina on October 31 :)

Javelina Jundred 100 Mile Run

Postby Julberg » Tue Nov 10, 2009 8:50 pm

I ran the Javelina Jundred 100 Mile Ultramarathon in beautiful Fountain Hills, AZ this past Saturday. (October31) It was fabulous! I finished the 100 in 24:40. After eating a vegan diet for quite some time I found myself moving towards raw vegan. For the past 7 weeks I've been 100% raw vegan. My race went so well, I didn't use gels or sports drinks. I used water, whole fruits, shakes of blended bananas and spinach. It worked beautifully!! I had NO swelling or soreness after the run and was able to run trail on Monday already with Topaz. Amazing. I posted a race report at www.julieberg.blogspot.com

I find the idea of running that sort of distance in anything less than a week as almost impossible to comprehend. Massive respect.
